For-profit higher education in the United States is unique and of great scale. However, since the Obama administration's censorship of for-profit colleges in 2011, forprofit higher education has entered the worst crisis in its history. A large number of for-profit institutions closed down, the enrollments dropped down, the price of these education companies' stock plummeted, and the reputation of for-profit colleges and universities became worse. The reasons include the deteriorating default rate of student loans in for-profit colleges, the false admissions promotion and fraud, the low level of teaching quality and employment, and the severe scrutiny and new regulations of the Obama administration for for-profit schools. Conflicts between the university logic and the company logic are unavoidable theoretical and practical issues for for-profit colleges and universities.
