Objective To explore the feasibility and effect of nurse-led clinic for management of swallowing disorders in patients with Parkinson′s disease(PD).Methods Totally,217 PD patients with dysphagia were assigned into a control group of 100 and an intervention group of 117 according to their odd or even ID number. The control group was given routine rehabilitation guidance by physicians in PD outpatient clinic, while the intervention group received systematic dysphagia management in nurse-led clinic. The effect was measured after 6 months of intervention. Results The effective rate was significantly higher, whereas the aspiration rate was significantly lower in the intervention group compared with the control group(P〈0.01 for both). Conclusion Nurse-led clinic for management of dysphagia in PD patients facilitates recovery of swallowing function and reduces incidence of aspiration.
