摘　　要：我国公共图书馆职能与定位研究在1980年代作为图书馆学基础理论研究的一部分内容而初见端倪,随着技术的发展和时代的变迁研究内容也发生变化,通过文献研究发现技术的发展、观念的转变、环境的变迁等"转型节点",是厘清图书馆职能与定位变化的重要前提。现有的文献研究成果聚合度不高,缺乏核心研究团队与核心话题,理论研究难有突破。因此,将各级公共图书馆置于公共文化服务体系中,结合时代发展的政策要素与社会环境,在宏观、中观与微观层面清晰界定各级公共图书馆应发挥的作用与价值,是公共图书馆职能与定位研究的当务之急。As a part of library science fundamental theory research, study on public library＇s function and role presented in 1980 s, and changed with the development of technology and times. It is the important prerequisite for clarifying library＇s function and role to find turning points of technology development,concept transformation, and environment change by literature research. The existing research results are decentralized, and lack of core reseaerch team and core topic, which lead theory research hardly to make any progress. Therefore, setting public libraries in public cultural service system, and combining with the policy factors and social environment, it is the priority of public library＇s function and role research to define the role and value public libraries should play at average and micro level.
