Joseph Heller(1923-1999) is a famous contemporary American novelist. His classic "The 22 th Military Discipline " is an outstanding representative of black humor. And his second novel "Something Happened" broke the traditional narrative, which further established his important writing position. This paper analyzes the narrative voice of "Something Happened"by using postmodern narrative theories, and expounds that the double narration gradually breaks the stability of the general meaning system, thus realizing the continuous self subversion of the meaning.
