Objective To explore the changes in serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels and their clinical significance in premature infants with infection. Methods According to the clinical diagnosis results,60 premature infants were divided into infection group and non-infection group, with 30 infants in each group.Serum levels of PCT,CRP and IL-6 were detected in both groups. Results The levels of PCT,CRP and IL-6 in infection group were significantly higher than those in non-infection group(P〈0.05).The sensitivity in diagnosing infection was 96.67%for PCT,83.33%for IL-6,and 76.67%for CRP.The specificity in diagnosing infection was 83.33%for PCT,66.67%for IL-6,and 70.00% for CRP.The sensitivity and specificity of PCT were significantly higher than those of IL-6 and CRP(P〈0.05).Conclusion The IL-6,PCT and CRP detection is valuable for diagnosis of infection and provides guidance for clinical rational drug use in premature infants. However, the specificity and sensitivity of PCT are higher than those of CRP and IL-6.
