摘　　要：Starting with Benedetto Croce＇s everlasting motto, ＂every true history is contemporary history＂, Li Jianming＇s new book Contemporary Echoes of the Croce Proposition is not a monograph on idealist philosophy. Rather, it is a collection of essays consisting of twelve commentary articles written between 1998 and 2013. The first five essays focus on how domestic politics has transformed recent American political history.
