摘　　要：威廉·福克纳对于父亲形象,尤其是对自己的父亲默里·福克纳的感知充斥着不满与反感。失败的、缺席的父亲形象是福克纳作品中反复出现的重要主题之一。在《标塔》中的记者和杰克·舒曼这两个人物的生活中,他们的父亲形象一直是缺席的,导致他们孤苦无依,找寻不到生命的意义。福克纳在该小说中淋漓尽致地表现了父亲形象的缺席对孩子所带来的消极影响,由此我们得知他一直在努力逃离与应对父亲对自己所造成的刻骨铭心的影响。Faulkner＇s perception of father figures, especially his own father Murry Falkner, is full of disapproval and distaste. Failing and absent father figures is one of the recurring themes in Faulkner＇s works. In Pylon, the father figures of the reporter and Jack Shumann are absent in their lives which leads to that they live lonely and cannot get the true meaning of life. In the novel, Faulkner completely represents the negative effects of absent father figures on their children from which we can see that Faulkner has been trying to escape and deal with the profound influence exerted by his own father.
