Objective To investigate the significance of serum Cys C and urine KIM-1 levels in evaluating renal tubule damage in patients with hypertension. Methods 85 cases of patients with primary hypertension were selected as the hypertension group, and 30 cases of healthy subjects with no organic lesion who received physical examination at the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum Cys C, urine KIM-1 and NGAL, as well as SBP and DBP of the two groups were detected and compared. Results The levels of SBP, DBP, serum Cys C, and urine KIM-1 and NGAL of the hypertension group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P〈0.05). In the hypertension group, the levels of SBP, DBP, serum Cys C, and urine KIM-1 of patients with urine NGAL level ≥131.7 ng/m L were significantly higher than those of patients with urine NGAL level 131.7 ng/m L(P〈0.05). The levels of serum Cys C and urine KIM-1 of hypertension patients were positively correlated with SBP, DBP and urine NGAL levels(P〈0.05). Conclusions The levels of serum Cys C and urine KIM-1 are closely related to the blood pressure level and degree of renal tubule damage.
