Objective: To explore the clinical effect of selective short segmental decompression and fusion in the treatment of multistage degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods: All patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 22 ca- ses in both groups. The experimental group received selective short segmental decompression and fusion, and the control group received multi -segmental decompression and fusion. The duration of operation, intraoperative blood loss and treatment of VAS, JOA and ODI were compared between the two groups. Results: The duration of operation and intraoperative blood loss in the experimental group were significantly lower than that in the control group ( P 〈 0.05 ). The scores of VAS, JOA and ODI were better than those before treatment ( P 〈 0.05 ), and the differences between VAS, JOA and ODI scores before and after treatment were not statistically significant ( P 〉 0.05 ). Conclusion: Selective short segmental decompression and fusion therapy is more effective and effective in the treatment of the lower lum- bar vertebral canal stenosis.
