摘　　要：由湖北省作家协会组编,王齐洲教授任古代卷主编,何锡章教授任近现代卷主编,刘川鄂教授任当代卷主编的四卷本《湖北文学通史》,无疑为区域文学史研究领域最新的标志性成果。该著在编撰过程中,既能充分尊重主编、编写者的个人意见,也能充分听取顾问、专家的审读建议。该著充分吸收了各位主编几十年来在各相关领域的研究创获,成就了他们在区域文学研究领域的一次总结与升华。王先霈先生为该著撰写的＂总论＂,虽主要针对湖北区域文学研究而发,但对整个地域与区域文学、文化研究皆具有指导、借鉴意义。The General History of Hubei Literature compiled by the Hubei Provincial Writers＇ Association is undoubtedly the landmark in the academic field of the regional literature. It consists of four volumes： the ancient volumes edited by Wang Qizhong,the modern volume by He Xizhang and the contemporary volume by Liu Chuan＇e. In the process of compiling it,the personal opinions of the chief editors and the writers have been highly respected and the suggestions of the experts and consultants have been carefully considered. As a sublime summary of the researches on regional literature,this book totally absorbs the essence of what the chief editors have achieved in various academic fields for decades. The preface by Wang Xianpei is mainly aimed at the research of Hubei＇s regional literature and additionally assumes an instructive significance to regional literature and cultural studies in the whole region.
