摘　　要：《奥德利夫人的秘密》是玛丽·伊丽莎白·布雷登第一部展现女性具有天使和魔鬼两面性的小说。作品中的女主人公奥德利夫人作为维多利亚时期典型女性的代表,即家中天使,同样具有两面性:天使的一面以及反叛的一面。而这种两面性的根源在于女性面对父权制社会下道德与法律的双重束缚,在不同境遇下所作出的相应抉择。Lady Audley＇s Secret is Mary Elizabeth Bradden＇s first novel,which exhibits the demoniac and angelic aspects of female. The heroine of the novel,Lady Audley,as a typical representative of Victorian women,that is,a angel in the house also has two sides,one is the angel and the other is angel＇s rebellion. However,the duality of angel is rooted in that under the oppression of morality and law in the patriarchal society,women have to make corresponding choices in different circumstances.
