摘  要:随着东非裂谷东支South Lokichar盆地勘探获得突破,该区成为研究和勘探的热点地区。Kerio Valley盆地紧邻South Lokichar盆地,勘探程度很低。基于最新的地震地质综合研究成果,阐述其石油地质特征和勘探潜力。Kerio Valley与South Lokichar盆地具有相似的构造演化背景,呈西陡东缓的半地堑结构,发育渐新世以来的地层,最大沉积厚度约5 000 m,以中新统地层为主。盆地东部露头揭示盆地内存在中新统优质烃源岩并且已成熟,油气系统已被2016年新钻探的C-1井所证实。该盆地具有一定勘探潜力。With the breakthrough in oil and gas exploration in South Lokichar basin, the east branch of eastern African rift system(EARS)became a hot spot area for research and exploration. Kerio Valley basin is adjacent to South Lokichar basin with low exploration degree.Based on the latest seismic and geological integrated study achievements, the petroleum geological features and exploration potential of the basin are expound. Kerio Valley basin has the similar structural evolution background with South Lokichar basin and it is a half graben with steep slope in the west and gentle slope in the east. The basin developed sedimentary stratums from Oligocene. The maximum of total stratum thickness is about 5 000 meters,main of which is Miocene. The basin has a good source rock of Miocene with medium maturity, revealed by the outcrop in the east of the basin. Its petroleum system was confirmed by well C-1 drilled in 2016. The basin has certain exploration potential.
