摘　　要：This paper attempts to analyze the symbolism that is embodied in"Sailing to Byzantium"and to further understand the spiritual freedom W. B. Yeats expressed in the poem. Studying the contrasts of the symbols and the eternity and holy spirit carried by Byzantium, we can understand Yeats' life philosophy, and finally reach his spiritual freedom which perpetuates itself in art.This paper attempts to analyze the symbolism that is embodied in＂Sailing to Byzantium＂and to further understand the spiritual freedom W.
