摘  要:关于山都木客的记载虽然荒诞怪异,但它反映的文化内涵颇多。山都木客是古越族的后裔,他们居于深山密林间,有树居也有室居;能斫杉枋,"以山伐为业";买卖诚信,以物易物;有自己的语言、饮食习惯和丧葬习俗,能歌善舞。同时,伴随王化的推行和对越人的征服,以及越人汉化或者越、汉融合的不断加强,山都木客的生活空间受到挤压,最终远离县民,选择在深山密林间居住,少与他人接触。Though the recordation about Mountain Wood Carving is very grotesque, it reflects lots of culture connotation. Mountain Wood Carving was descended from the nationality of Guyue, they lived in the tree holes or caverns in deep mountains and forests, their primary work is logging. Their business based on the principle of honesty and credibility and the trade was done by barter. They had their own language, eating and funeral habits, they were skilled in singing and dancing. Mountain Wood Carving's living space was squeezed as implementation of the policy of local administration, the conquest and Chinesization of Guyue or the continual strengthening of the integration between Hans and Guyue. Ultimately they chose to away from the people of the county and lived in deep mountains and forests, so they rarely contacted with others.
