摘  要:元语言是把语言本身作为指称和描述对象的语言,对进一步理解小说中的叙事声音具有重要意义。《格列佛游记》中存在诸多元语言,作为语篇前景化的部分,其内容丰富、意旨深远。文章在哲学"语言分层论"提出的对象语言和元语言二项式基础上,着重聚焦《格列佛游记》中的元语言命题,分析其与斯威夫特小说美学之间的内在联系,从而揭示其特定的文学艺术价值与文学审美意义。作为斯威夫特手中的一把利器,元语言不仅是故事层面上的文本世界建构,也映射出作品在人物意象塑造上的书写策略,同时亦在主题思想层面上折射了作者对理性主义与人类文明的深刻哲思。Metalanguage is a language which take language itself as reference and object of description, and is of great importance for the further understanding of narrative voice in novels. In Gulliver's Travels, there is much metalanguage, as foreground of the discourse, and abundant in contents and profound in significance. Based on the binomial expression of object language and metalanguage proposed by philosophic theory of language stratification, the article focuses on metalanguage proposition in Gulliver's Travels, analyzes the internal relationship between this very proposition and the aesthetics of Swift's novels, and reveals its artistic value and aesthetic significance in literature. As a sharp weapon for Swift, metalanguage is the construction of text world in terms of story, also represents writing strategies in image creation of characters, and at the same time, reflects the author's deep philosophic consideration of rationalism and human civilization in terms of the theme.
