摘　　要：In 1847 William Thackeray started writing of Vanity Fair. The complete Chinese version by Yang Bi published by People＇s Literature Press in 1957 was a great success. From many Chinese version of Vanity Fair, we may find that Yang Bi＇s translation is a perfect one. It is a best-ever version of all the possible versions that have been and might be produced in the future. Through analyzing Yang Bi＇s version, the choice of words, the use of four-character phrases, colloquial word in conversation, modal particles are the main reasons for the success ofYang Bi＇ s version and it＇ s long-standing popularity.
