Objective To investigate the effect of comfort nursing on symptom remission rate in children with upper respiratory tract infection treated with atomization inhalation. Methods Eighty children with upper respiratory tract infection were divided into normal group(n =40, given routine basic nursing) and comfort group(n =40, given comfort nursing intervention) by random number talde. The nursing effects of the two groups were compared. Results The symptom remission rate of children in the comfort group was 95.0%, which was significantly higher than 75.0% in the normal group(P〈0.05). The hospital stays of children and total incidence of adverse reactions during atomization inhalation treatment in the comfort group were significantly better than those in the normal group(P〈0.05). After nursing, the score of comfort in the two groups significantly increased, and that of the comfort group was significantly higher than the normal group(P〈0.05).Conclusion Comfort nursing can significantly improve the efficacy and prognosis of children with upper respiratory tract infection treated with atomization inhalation, which is worthy of clinical application.
