摘　　要：电子邮件档案作为信息化时代全新的档案类型,承载着丰富的社会记忆。斯坦福大学档案部门开发了包含档案处理（Process）、鉴定（Appraise）、发现（Discover）、传递（Deliver）4大模块的开源软件e PADD,以实现邮件文档的自由浏览,并在保护隐私和版权的前提下,最大限度地挖掘电子邮件的文化历史价值。斯坦福大学以个人为单位进行电子邮件存档、通过电子邮件创建者进行邮件内容评估、支持多种方式的邮件内容检索、分设发现和传递模块以保障电子邮件存档安全性等方面的经验值得我国档案部门借鉴。As the new archive type in the information age, email archives carry rich social memory. For browsing the mail document freely, and digging the cultural and historical value of the email as much as possible on the premise of protecting privacy and copyright, Stanford University archives developed the open source software e PADD which includes four modules of Process, Appraise, Discover and Deliver. The experience of Stanford University in personal email archiving, evaluating email content by email creators,supporting various ways of retrieving email content, establishing the find and transmission modules in order to ensure the email archives safety. It can provide reference for China＇s archives work.
