Different mechanical vibration fi'equency of vibration during welding process were conducted on high strength WQ960 low alloy steel. The effect of mechanical vibration frequency on the mechanical properties, impact properties, fracture morphology and microstructure of welded joint were studied. The results showed that, the metallographic structure of weld seams with different mechanical vibration frequencies is mainly the first eutectoid ferrite + acicular ferrite in the crystal, but with the increase of mechanical vibration frequency. And the content of columnar crystal decreases obviously. The strength and elongation of the welding joint increased firstly, and decreased afterwards. When the vibration frequency is 50 Hz, the maximum tensile strength and post-bleak elongation can be obtained as 875 MPa and 14% , while the value of impact for the welding joint was also up to the maximum value (71 J) when the mechanical vibration frequency was 50 Hz. The influence of the mechanical vibration frequency on the mechanical properties of the welded joints mainly concerned to the distribution of the inclusion in the molten pool during vibration.
