摘 要:《发条橙》作为一部充斥着大量暴力书写的小说,其目的却并非宣扬暴力。该书从人文与科学两个向度出发,对人类社会未来发展做出了寓言或警示。两者都是为人自身的发展而出现的:人文主义主要从价值角度与人文关怀角度,强调人的精神世界丰盈的重要意义;科学主义主要探讨人之外的物质世界,寻找人在世界中得以存在的客观基础。前者侧重于人的内在精神,后者偏重于人的外部世界。尽管有内外之别,但两者都是围绕着人展开探索与研究的。两者不可偏废,更不能过度发展一端而放弃另一极。否则,人本身将不再完满。为此,《发条橙》揭示了人文与科学的关系在人类历史进程中的应然形态乃是和谐而非对立。Generally speaking,A Clockwork Orange is an allegory of the development of human society instead of a tool of promoting violence,although it is filled with images of violence. The work was allegorically made from the dimensions of humanism and scientism which are both helpful for the self-development of human beings. The former dimension focuses on the significance of spiritual world from the view of human value and humanistic care; the latter one concentrates on the material world,aiming to search for the objective basis of human life. However,both of the two dimensions are based on the considerations of human beings,which indicates each of them is indispensible and the balanced development of them is primary for the integrity of man.Accordingly,A Clockwork Orange reveals that the relations between humanism and scientism are supposed to be harmonious,rather than conflictive.
