摘 要:中世纪西欧王权合法性的来源,通常由家族世袭、教会授权以及选举原则三点构成。许多情况下,选举原则是极容易被忽略的一点,但是这个原则确实存在,并且在日耳曼原始部落中是选举军事领袖的重要标准之一。直到蛮族侵入西欧并完全基督教化后,选举原则才慢慢失去效用。然而,即便是在"君权神授"思想和家族世袭原则发展至顶峰的时期,已经逐渐失去实际意义的选举原则仍然以其他形式存在于西欧政治社会中,它并没有因神授原则的主导地位而被废除,并且经过长时间演变和发展,升华为完备详细的政治理论,从而对西方近代民主政治产成了独特影响。In the Middle Ages, the principle of election in the monarchical legitimacy' s source was usually derived from three aspects: hereditary succession, church authorization and electoral principles. In many cases, the principle of election was a point that can be easily ignored, but it did exist and was one of the important criteria for electing military leaders among the Germanic tribes. Until the barbarians invaded Western Europe and became completely Christianized, the principle of election started to lose it's sense slowly. However, even in the period when the thought of "divine right of Kings" and family hereditary principle became to the peak, the principle of election still existed in other forms in Western political society, it was not abolished for the principle of granted had taken dominance. Furthermore, after a long evolution and development, the principle of election has become a complete theory of the political, and thus it had an unique impact on the modern Western democracy.
