摘 要:直接从二阶非线性极化出发,得到了任意方向通光的铌酸锂晶体的横向介电张量矩阵,不仅证明了二阶非线性极化系数更能准确地反映泡克尔斯效应的物理本质,而且得出无论从哪个方向通光,偏振态只能在垂直于赤道平面与邦加球的交线上旋转,而不能沿赤道旋转。然后针对铌酸锂晶体具体不同的通光方向与加压方向利用四元数的方法进行探讨,得出只有在z方向通光,x或y方向加电场时晶体的偏振旋转轴不会受到自然双折射的影响,同时分析了输入偏振态对电光效应的影响。最后进行了铌酸锂晶体电光效应的实验,证实了上述理论分析的正确性。该理论分析与实验为光学传感器及其他应用提供了依据。In this paper, starting from the second-order nonlinear polarization, we obtain the transverse dielectric tensor matrix of LiNbO3 crystal in any direction. It not only proves that the second-order nonlinear polarization coefficients can more accurately reflect the physical nature of the Pockels effect, but also shows that no matter from any incident direc- tion of light, the polarization state can only be rotated along with the intersection of the plane perpendicular to equator and Poincare Sphere, and can not be along the equator. Then we discuss the use of quaternion in different directions of light and voltage of LiNbO3 crystals, and conclude that the polarized rotation axis of the crystal will not be affected by the effect of natural birefringence when the direction of light is in the z direction and the electric field is in the x or y di rection. Finally, we use the above scheme to analyze the influence of the input polarization on the electro-optic effect of the lithium niobate crystal, and we have carried on the related experiment which proves the correctness of the above the- oretical analysis. The theoretical analysis and experiment of this paper provide a basis for optical sensors and other ap- plications.
