摘　　要：《平原上的城市》是麦卡锡西部小说创作终结，他把自己的生命过程融入到小说的创作中，挥泪荒野表达了对广袤的西部自由自在的自然生活的依恋，同时对美墨边境社会生活做了深刻地揭露和批判．表达了一个科学人文主义作家对现代人命运的关注和同情，对荒野丧失的无奈和悲伤。他恋恋不舍地写着牧场、平原、山脉、牛仔，向心目中的西部，向恢弘广袤的荒原，向人类最初的纯真和上帝创世的最初的世界告别和致敬。＂The City on the Plains＂ is the end of the novel creation of McCarthy＇s western world. He incorporates his life process into the creation Of novels. The tearful wilderness expresses his attachment to the vast free and natural life in the west, and at the same time on the US-Mexico border. Social life has profoundly exposed and criticized, expressing the concern and sympathy of a scientific humanist writer for the destiny of modem people, and the helplessness and sorrow for the loss of the wilderness. He reluctantly wrote pastures, plains, mountains, cowboys, to the west of the mind, to the vast and vast wilderness, to the farewell and tribute to the original innocence of mankind and the original world of God＇s creation.
