摘　　要：英语修辞学作为语言学的分支,主要探讨如何在篇章与实际交流中用合适的语言达到期望的交际目的。其中,概括与详述是英语修辞学涉及的重要内容之一,对于谋篇达意具有重要意义。本文从语篇、词汇和短语层面,研究英语修辞学中的概括与详述,为更好地利用修辞学达到交际目的提供借鉴。As a branch of linguistics, English rhetoric mainly discusses how to achieve communicative purpose in proper language in discourse and practical communication. Among them, generalization and specification are important contents involved in English rhetoric, which is of great significance to arrange structure and express viewpoint in writing. This paper studies the generalization and specification of English rhetoric from the aspect of discourse, vocabulary and phrase, so as to provide a reference in better use of rhetoric for communicative purposes.
