Mammalian cells respond to hepatitis C virus (HCV) challenge by initiating an intracellular innate immune response which can limit HCV replication.Innate immune defenses are represented by pathogen recognition receptor signaling which mediates the expression of antiviral gene products, the production of interferon and interferon-stimulated genes, and the secrection of other proinflammatory cytokines from the region of HCV infection.HCV persistence has been linked to a complex combination of virus-host interactions which disrupt intracellular innate immune signaling and resist therapy for HCV infection. The find- ings of the interaction between HCV infection and host defense line can show some molecular mechanisms about immune evasion mediated by ttCV. This paper mainly discussed the antiviral effect of ISG products, the effect of HCV on interferon upstream and downstream, and the evasion mechanism of virus to host in the process of infection of HCV.
