港台高校ESP课程设置对内地高校英语教学改革的启示  

The Implication of ESP Curricula Offered in Universities of Hong Kong and Taiwan to English Teaching Reforms in China's Mainland Universities

摘　　要：通过对香港、台湾地区4所高校的专门用途英语(ESP)课程设置现状进行调查后发现,由于受其历史渊源、经济社会发展、办学水平等因素影响和制约,港台两地高校的ESP课程处于不同发展阶段:香港高校的ESP课程发展已较为完善,而台湾高校ESP课程发展则相对滞后。内地高校应吸取经验,选择适合自身的发展道路,建议通用英语与ESP并重,根据学生需求开设ESP课程,加强ESP师资培养,开展ESP网络教学,构建ESP合作交流平台。After investigating ESP curricula offered in four universities of Hong Kong and Taiwan,the present paper reveals that,due to the constraints of historical,social and economic development and school-running levels,ESP courses offered in Hong Kong universities are well-structured while those in Taiwan universities not well-constructed. Universities in China's Mainland should learn from their experience and choose the development path that best suits them. This paper also gives suggestions for China's Mainland universities： to lay equal stress on EGP and ESP courses,develop ESP courses according to student needs,train ESP course teachers,encourage ESP web-based teaching,and construct ESP course platforms for exchange and cooperation.
