摘　　要：步军统领衙门是清王朝设立的重要的军政机构,具有维护京师社会秩序,确保京师稳定的职能,民国初期仍然发挥作用。迄今为止,史学界对步军统领衙门设立的时间、步军统领衙门的性质、职能及其统率的兵力等问题有了一定的研究。但对步军统领衙门的裁撤问题、职能变化问题、在京师的管辖中所起到的作用问题的研究,稍显不足,尤其是清末民初时期,步军统领衙门随时代而变化的诸多方面尚需进一步研究。The Yamen of the Imperial City Defence Troops was an important military and political institution established by the Qing Dynasty, which had the function of maintaining the social order and ensuring the stability of the Beijing city. It still played a role in the early period of the Republic of China. Up to today, the historians have made a certain study of the time, the nature, the function and the force of the Yamen of the Imperial City Defence Troops. However, the research on the issue of the abolition of the Yamen, the change of its functions, and the role it played in the jurisdiction of the capital city is slightly inadequate. Especially with the changes of the times in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, many aspects of the Yamen of the Imperial City Defence Troops should be further studied.
