Objective To investigate the correlation between female physiological events and disease severity in women with psoriasis vulgaris. Methods The correlation between female physiological events(defined as menstruation, pregnancy and menopause) was determined by retrospective analysis of questionnaires filled by 300 women with psoriasis vulgaris. Results In 300 enrolled women with psoriasis vulgaris, the impact of menstruation, pregnancy or menopause on psoriatic severity was found. Among the respondents, 31 women(10.33%) complained disease exacerbation during menstruation, none reported disease alleviation. Among 201 patients with history of pregnancy, 68(33.83%) patients reported that their condition changed during pregnancy, among which 56(82.35%) cases improved and 12(17.65%) cases worsened. Among 98 patients in the period of transition to menopause, 40(40.82%) cases reported disease exacerbation and no one reported alleviation.
