摘 要:有关设计的历史研究,不仅要揭示人类设计发生、发展的全部历史,还应当展现设计历史进程中的内在逻辑和规律。"设计史"不能简单等同于"设计的历史",前者应是一种学科、方法或理论,后者则是客观存在的研究对象。受社会现实、学术传统、学科发展等因素的影响,中西方在设计史研究的范围和方法上尚存有差异,需要相互理解并寻求共识。设计史从属于历史研究的范畴,对现代设计实践的指导性较弱,其理论意义往往要大于现实意义。The research on the history of design should not only reveal the origin and development of human design, but also explore the internal logic and rules of the entire history of human design. “Design History” cannot be simply interpreted as “the history of design”, the former is a subject, method or theory; the latter is an objective research object. Due to the impacts of social reality, academic tradition, discipline development and other factors, Chinese researchers on design history are diferent from their Western counterparts in terms of scope and method, they need to get mutual understanding and seek consensus. Design history is a research object of historical research, it has little role in guiding modern design practice, its theoretical signiifcance is greater than its practical signiifcance.
