摘　　要：区域地理研究具有悠久的传统 ,它体现自然环境与人文特征相结合的层次与途径 .本文介绍了国外新区域地理学的兴起 ,讨论了中国区域地理的改革问题 .加强综合分析、进行自然、经济的区域整合 ,完善中国区域地理的现代理论、技术和方法、重视全球化及其区域响应、深化区域可持续发展研究是改革的主要方面 .改革的目的在于提高研究的水平 ,使区域地理在解决国家急需的人口、资源。The study on regional geography,a traditional topic with a long history,embodies the level and approach to the combination of physical env ironmental features and human geographic characteristics. In this paper, the ups urge of new regional geography in foreign countries is introduced and the reform for research on regional Chinese geography is discussed. Strengthening the comp rehensive analysis, integrating regional physical and economic aspects, perfecti ng modern theory, technology and methodology of regional Chinese geography, emph asis on globalization and its regional responses, and deepening studies on regio nal sustainable development are main aspects of the reform. The reform aims to p romote the level of the study and enhance its contribution to solving urgent pro blems of population, resources,environment and implementing sustainable developm ent in China.
