摘　　要：Pentaerythritol is mainly used to producelubricants, alkyd resins, polyurethane,surfactants, emulsifiers, medicines, pesticidesand explosives.With the rapid increase of the market demandin downstream products, thepentaerythritol production in China developedrapidly in recent years with a constantexpansion of the capacity.China’s capacityof producing pentaerythritol was around 100000 t/a only in 2002, but expanded to 200000 t/a in 2005.There are 17 pentaerythritolproducers in China today, with a combinedcaDacity of around 320 000 t/a.
