ZPC Launches MTO Project

摘　　要：Sinopec Zhongyuan Petrochemical Corp. Ltd. (ZPC) held a groundbreaking ceremonyon April 16th to start construction of 600 000 t/a methanol-to-olefin project in itsPuyang site, Henan province, remarking that Chinese enterprise has made importantprogress in developing coal based olefin technology. A new 600 000 t/a methanol-to-olefinunit and a new 100 000 t/a polypropylene unit will be constructed. After fullcompletion of the project, ZPC’s total capacities to produce ethylene, polyethyleneand polypropylene will reach 240 000 t/a, 260 000 t/a and 160 000 t/a respectively.ZPC now operates a 210 000 t/a ethylene cracker, a 200 000 t/a polyethylene
