摘　　要：China’s petrochemical industry entered a periodof pullback and correction in the thirdquarter,according to latest prosperity index reportpublished by the China Economic Monitoring& Analysis Center under the NationalBureau of Statistics. Both the petroleum andthe chemical sectors remained in the prosperityrange. The growth remained steady for total taxescollected,headcount and infrastructure spendingin the petroleum sector,and for export valueand headcount in the chemical sector. Overall,the growth in the petrochemical industry slowedin the third quarter because it was a weak demandseason. In the fourth quarter,the industryis expected to remain positive thanks to risingdemand in the sale peak season.
