CNOOC Kicks off Fine Chemical Projects in Hainan

摘　　要：CNOOC Oil & Petrochemical Co Ltd held a ceremony on November 14th tobreak ground a fine chemical project at Dongfang Industry Park,Hainan provincewith the presence of Hainan provincial governor Mr. Wei Liucheng,previouspresident of CNOOC.CNOOC plans to invest RMB8.334 billion in this two-phase project. Phase oneincludes a 2 million t/a crude oil pre-processing unit,a 1.2 million t/a DCC unit,a 80000 t/a methyl tertbutyl ether (MTBE) unit and other five units,which is scheduledfor completion in December 2012. In the second phase the company willconstruct a 200 000 t/a acrylonitrile unit,a 70 000 t/a methyl methacrylate unit anda 120 000 t/a styrene monomer unit,which will come on line in April 2013.In Taizhou,Jiangsu province,eastern China,CNOOC’s another subsidiary -
