摘　　要：对保存在日本广岛县安芸高田市教育委员会的1914年至1937年间李俨写给三上义夫的41封信进行整理和分析,追溯这两位著名数学史家交流合作的细节,揭示他们共同关注的学术问题,即古代以迄晚近中、日数学典籍的搜集和整理,以及中算与和算的源流。同时还参考了李俨的出版物和相关资料,包括其他学者之间的有关通信,对某些未具年份信件的书写时间进行考证,按时序对这批史料重新编号,从而更清晰地呈现出两位学者通过书信开展学术交流的原貌。Although his biography indicates that Li Yan's interest in the history of mathematics was influenced by the studies of ancient Chinese mathematics carried out by Japanese historians of mathematics,few details are publically known about this. Meanwhile,recent research by Japanese scholars has disclosed the correspondence between Li Yan and David E. Smith( 1860—1944),an American historian of mathematics,as well as that between Smith and Japanese historian of mathematics Yoshio Mikami( 1875—1950). However,communication between Li Yan and Mikami has hitherto rarely been noticed by scholars. Based on the sorting and analysis of 41 letters that Li Yan wrote to Yoshio Mikami between 1914 and 1937,which are preserved in Akitakada city,Hiroshima pref. of Japan,this paper describes the details of the cooperation and exchange between these two great historians of mathematics,reveals the topics of common interest,such as the collection and study of mathematical books and manuscripts from antiquity to early modern times,the origins and developments of mathematics in ancient and medieval China and Japan,as well as the relationship between the two traditions—ancient Chinese mathematics and wasan. The authors also refer to Li Yan's publications and other relevant materials,including the correspondence of other scholars,verify the dates of some letters that lack dates,reorder the letters chronologically,and in doing so provide a more comprehensive picture of the academic exchanges Li and Mikami engaged in through their correspondence.
