摘　　要：劳伦斯在其作品中表现出了对人类生活的深刻洞悉,揭示了生活中存在的各种不同的关系。他认为平衡是保持两个相互矛盾的事物和谐相处的最理想的手段。本文探讨了其短篇小说《菊馨》中的各种不同的矛盾,并揭示出其恢复事物间和谐平衡的愿望。D.H.Lawrence shows sharp insight into human life and explores different kinds of relations in his works.He strongly believes that balance is the ideal relation between two contradictory things.This paper is an attempt to reveal different conflicts in his short story The Odour of Chrysanthemums and to explore his desire for revitalization of harmonious balance between things.
