摘 要:表面等离激元(SPPs)能将电磁场能量局域在亚波长尺度内,突破衍射极限,因此在光学高集成回路领域具有重大的应用前景。本文提出的纳米线波导结构是将Ag纳米线置于Ag膜上,中间覆盖一层Mg F2。模拟结果显示波导的传输距离可以达到171μm,模式面积仅为0.14λ2。相比于衬底是介质的传统纳米线波导,该波导的SPP模式几乎所有的电磁场紧束缚在波导外部深亚波长尺度范围内。因此该波导支持的表面等离激元模式对波导周围环境更加敏感,表现出更优异的传感特性。外部场深亚波长束缚的金属纳米线波导非常适合应用于光学高集成回路领域。Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) can be guided by metallic nanostructures beyond the diffraction limitwith deep-subwavelength outside-field confinements, which has important applications in optical sensing in high-integrationcircuits. The paper propose the novel nanowire waveguide, the Ag nanowires is separated from the Ag film by the cover a MgF2layer. Showing long propagation lengths beyond 171 μm with normalized mode areas 0.14λ2. By comparing with the metallicnanowire waveguide directly placed on the dielectric substrate, nearly all the evanescent fields of the SPP modes are tightlyconfined in the outside of the nanowire waveguide. Thus, the SPP modes of the propose nanowire waveguide are very sensitiveto the surrounding, exhibits much higher sensing performances. This plasmonic metallic nanowire waveguides with deepsubwavelengthoutside-field confinements has important applications optical sensing in high-integration circuits.
