非正式照料会改善失能老人的心理健康吗?——基于CHARLS 2013的实证研究

摘　　要：本文利用CHARLS 2013年的调查数据研究了非正式照料对失能老年心理健康的影响。估计结果表明,非正式照料能够显著改善失能老人的抑郁程度和生活满意度。进一步对非正式照料的来源进行分类,发现配偶和子女(及子女的配偶)提供的非正式照料都可以改善失能老年人的心理健康,但是其他亲属提供的非正式照料对于失能老人心理健康的影响不显著。最后,对于不同群体的异质性分析表明,非正式照料能够显著改善女性的心理健康,但是对于男性的心理健康没有显著的影响;非正式照料能够缓解轻微失能老人的抑郁程度,提高他们的生活满意度,但是对于严重失能的老人的抑郁程度和生活满意度没有显著的影响。Based on the data of CHRARLS2013,the paper reviews the effect of informal cares of the dependent elderly on their mental health.The result shows that informal cares can significantly alleviate the depression of the dependent elderly and improve their life satisfaction.Further classification of the sources of the informal cares finds both informal care by spouse and children(including children’s spouses)improve the mental health of the dependent elderly,but informal care by other relatives has no significant effect on their mental health.Lastly,the examination of the heterogeneous effect of informal care to different groups shows that informal cares can significantly improve the mental health of the female elderly while have no significant effect on the mental health of the male elderly.However,though the informal cares do alleviate the degree of depression and improve life satisfaction of the mildly disabled elderly,it has no significant effect on the mental health of the seriously disabled elderly.
