摘 要:我国的大学英语四级六级考试、PETS、翻译专业资格(水平)考试、商务英语考试、托业考试以及新近推出的国才考试等一系列考察考生英语水平的测试,对社会产生了宏观与微观两个层面的作用:微观层面,规约了高校英语的教学方向和教学要求;宏观层面,规划了用人单位选拨人才的选择标准。与此同时,社会的不断发展、语言学理论的更新、教学方法的改进也对考试方式、考试题型和评价方式产生反拨作用。这种双向的作用应当引起研究者的注意,以期设计出更符合现阶段教学理念,符合人才选拨标准的语言水平测试,更好地为提高学生语言应用能力服务,做到以考促学,以考促教。Different kinds of English proficiency tests have designed since the government has implemented reform and opening-up policy.All these language proficiency tests which include CET4,CET6,PETS,CATTI,BEC,TOEIC and ETIC are meant to examine language competence of the testees.All these testing practices have caused the washback effects at micro and macro level.At the micro level,the teaching practice and teaching direction has influenced.And the test results have produced the effect on the personnel selection criteria.Meanwhile,the development of society,the update of linguistic theories and teaching methodologies has impact on the ways of evaluation.The two-way backwash effect has attracted attention of test stakeholders.The effective language proficiency test which is meet the requirement of current teaching principle and the personnel standard selection should be designed in order to enhance the language competence of the learners,ensure the validity of testing and effectiveness of teaching.
