概念隐喻视角下《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》的意象分析

摘　　要：概念隐喻是人类的思维方式,存在于社会生活的各个方面。《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》通过实体隐喻和空间隐喻的交错使用,把人物形象刻画得淋漓尽致。小说中的实体隐喻表现为:人物喻指社会制度,死亡代表消失,物体表征情感;空间隐喻表现为:物理空间既指社会空间,又象征禁锢思想的精神监狱。Conceptual metaphor is a way of thinking existing in every aspect of social activities.By alternatively using ontological metaphor and spatial metaphor,characters in A Rose for Emily was vividly depicted.Ontological metaphor is displayed as:characters signify social system,death refers to disappearance,and object represents emotions.Spatial metaphor is displayed as:physical space not only equals to social space but also symbols spiritual prison of locking thoughts.
