Objective:To observe the effect of genistein on liver function and lipid metabolism in the exercise-induced fatigue rats. Methods:Male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group,exercise-induced fatigue model groups, low dose genistein-group and high dose genistein-group.The exercise-induced fatigue model was made by forced exhaustive swimming with subcutaneous injection of different doses genistein or solvent for 14 days continuously. After the last swimming, the blood samples were taken from the abdominal vein to detect the changes of liver function in serum and the contents of ALT,AST,TC,TG,HDL,LDL,VLDL and HBDH in serum lipids in each group. Results:There was no difference in ALT and AST content among groups. When compared with the normal control group,exercise-induced fatigue significantly decreased the content of TC and TG,down-regulated the level of LDL,VLDL and HDL,and inhibited the activity of HBDH.However,Genistein had the opposite effect. Conclusion:Genistein has the effect of anti-exercise fatigue, which can alleviate the abnormal metabolism of liver function and blood lipids caused by exercise fatigue.
