Objective To investigate the effect of Shenfu injection on inflammatory response following myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Methods Thirty healthy SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group(S group),ischemia-reperfusion group(I/R group)and Shenfu injection group(SF group),with 10 rats in each group. The ischemia-reperfusion was induced by left anterior descending coronary artery ligation.Pathological changes, superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity and malondialdehyde(MDA)content in myocardial tissue were measured in all the three groups. Results Compared with S group, structural disorganization, focal necrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration were found in the myocardial tissue of I/R group.Compared with I/R group, myocardial injury, inflammatory lesion and MDA production were decreased and SOD activity was increased in SF group. Conclusion Shenfu injection can alleviate myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury through reducing inflammatory response.
