摘　　要：从系统功能语法中概念功能的重要体现方式——及物性对小说《品彻·马丁》(《Pincher Martin》)中主人公马丁落水之后的经历进行分析,通过语言实据揭示马丁看似英勇的斗争之下挣扎却无法摆脱死亡的小说主题。将马丁的经历分成三大阶段,从中节选部分内容进行过程分析后发现:虽然不同过程类型的参与成分不同,但为斗争的"伪英雄式"提供了鲜明例证。Golding将深层主题巧妙地隐藏在了遣词造句之中,与Halliday提出的"意义潜势"不谋而合。将系统功能语法与文学语篇结合能进一步为读者欣赏语篇时产生的直觉提供客观、科学的语言证据。Transitivity,a key reflection of the ideational function in Systemic Functional Grammar(SFC),is used in analyzing the drowning experience of Pincher Martin,the main character of the book Pincher Martin.It aims at showing with language evidence that Martin s death is destined despite his battle which seems to be brave.This process analysis is based on parts excerpted from three stages divided according to Martin s experience in the sea.Although the participants of the processes are diversified,they all provide evidence for the pseudo-hero s efforts of Martin.The author Golding skillfully manipulated words and sentences to conceal the underlying theme,which coincides with Halliday s“meaning potential”.A combination of SFC and literature texts can offer objective and reasonable language evidence for the intuition arising during the process of reading.
