摘　　要：《怀疑》是美国当代著名剧作家约翰·尚利的力作,是一则当代人"怀疑"与"信仰"的寓言。该剧展现了20世纪60年代那个宗教变革时代的波诡云谲,探讨了当代人信仰和怀疑的问题。故事本身和剧本"悖论"式的结尾是对当代人信仰的叩问,对无端怀疑的嘲讽,更是对人性的召唤。Doubt:a Parable,a new play by the famous contemporary American playwright John Shanley in 2005,is a parable of“doubt”and“belief”of contemporary men.At last,Father Flynn resigned;however,he received a promotion and was instated as pastor of a nearby parochial school.The play reflects the chaos of religious reforms in the United States in the 1960s and explores the“doubt”and“belief”of contemporary men.The story and the paradoxical ending serve as an inquiry into the belief of contemporary men,a satire on unreasonable suspicions,and more a call for humanity.
