宗乡社团的推动与新世纪以来的新加坡华人文化  

Clan Associations' Effort and Singapore Chinese Culture During the New Age

摘　　要：运用华文报刊与华人社团会讯的报道与记录,论文探讨新世纪以来由新加坡华人宗乡社团推动的华人文化发展状况。研究显示,宗乡社团在现有教育体制外推动展开与中华语言文化相关的活动,为保留与传承中华语言文化而艰难奋斗;华人宗乡社团关注方言文化的重振问题,以唤起宗乡社群的历史记忆并增强社团的内在凝聚力;透过同庆华人传统节日与不同种族同台表演歌舞等形式,华族与非华族进行文化交流。新加坡华人文化在重振进程中所显示的跨种族、跨国界的发展趋向,强化了华人文化对于新加坡多元种族国家文化建构的重要价值与意义,为新加坡华人文化的未来注入新的发展动力。Drawing on Chinese newspapers and newsletters published by Chinese clan associations,this paper investigates how Singapore Chinese clan associations have made effort in fostering Chinese culture.According to the findings,Chinese clan associations work outside the existing education institutions to organize events for Chinese language and culture in the hope of preserving the traditions.They are concerned with the revival of dialect culture so as to rekindle the historical memories of clans and communities and also to strengthen the cohesiveness of clan associations.Through the celebration of Chinese festivals and performance of getai with various races on stage,the ethnic Chinese interact with other ethnic groups.There is evidence that the Singapore Chinese culture has increasingly transcended ethnic and national boundaries.This has reinforced the value and implications of Singapore’s multiethnic culture in making and also driven the Chinese culture ahead.
