Alkyl polyglucoside(APG)is an effective,non-toxic and non-ionic surfactant. It is widely used, especially in the area of hydrate. The effects of APG on the formation of methane hydrate were studied in the experiment under changing mass concentration, initial pressure and the length of carbon chain. The results show that the reasonable mass concentration of APG solution effectively improves the rate of formation and the gas density of hydrate. And the solution system of 1 500 mg/L works the best mass concentration to form hydrate, the final gas density(volume fraction)could reach 138.17.The experimental initial pressure and the final reservoir gas density have certain the linear rule, the gas density increases eventually with the pressure building up.The length of the carbon chain affects the formation of hydrates. The rate of formation of hydrate increases with the length of the carbon chain increasing.Reasonable choice of surfactant, mass concentration, initial pressure and the length of carbon chain improve the rate of formation and the storage capacity of hydrate greatly.
