摘　　要：第二次世界大战以后，随着美国的兴起，美国政府高度重视对外文化与学术交流。富布赖特项目的出现和运作，便是美国国际文化交流的成功案例。笔者在现有文献基础上，结合自己作为富布赖特研究学者的亲身经历，系统地评介了富布赖特项目在美国文化外交中的重要地位，以期对中国文化外交建设有所启示。With the rise of the U.S.as a superpower after the Second World War,the U.S.government recognized the growing importance of cultural and educational communication with the outside world.A case in point is the establishment of the Fulbright Program which has now become the flagship educational exchange program in the U.S.The author of this paper,based on his personal experience as a 2015-2016 Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Chicago,sets out to assess the particular role of the Fulbright Program in US cultural diplomacy,and comes up with some practical suggestions for similar practice in China.
