In order to reduce the environment risk of ATL,a photocatalyst of W-modified TiO2 was selected to improve the degradation speed of ATL in water. The photocatalysts of W-modified TiO2 were prepared by sol-gel method, with Ti(OC2H5)4 and ammonium tungsten partial as precursors. The microstructure and properties of W-modified TiO2 were characterized by using X-ray diffraction(XRD),UV-Vis spectrophotometer techniques, the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)theory,as well as scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effects of tungsten contents(molar ratio),calcination temperature, mass concentration of catalyst and initial substrate on ATL degradation were investigated.Meanwhile, the degradation mechanism of ATL was studied according to their photocatalytic properties. The results show that TiO2 with 10%W(molar ratio)calcined at 500℃for 4 h presents the best photo-degradation performance. The degradation efficiency of 10 mg/L ATL reaches to 92%after visible light irradiation for 240 min in the presence of 1.0 g/L catalyst. In addition, holes(h+)and hydroxyl radical(OH·)are determined to be the predominant reactive groups.
