Objective To explore the clinical effect of self-efficacy theory in functional exercise after total hip replacement(THR)in the elderly. Methods 64 elderly patients with THA were randomly divided into control group(32 cases)and experimental group(32 cases). The control group was given routine nursing and health education after total hip arthroplasty;the experimental group was given nursing measures to enhance patients'selfefficacy on the basis of the control group, and followed up for 3 months. The self-efficacy score and Harris score were compared between the experimental group and the control group. Results The self-efficacy score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group at one month after operation. The Harris scores of one month and three months after operation(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of selfefficacy theory can fully mobilize the potential of elderly patients after THP,increase self-confidence,improve the effect of functional exercise, thus effectively promote the functional recovery of elderly patients, improve the quality of life.
