摘　　要：亚当·沃森是国际关系英国学派的代表人物之一。作为外交官,沃森有着丰富的职业经历与现实关怀;作为学者,他在英国国际政治理论委员会中长期扮演着参与者与领导者的角色,这两种实践及彼此间的互动贯穿了沃森大部分学术生涯。围绕国际社会这一主题,沃森奉献了数部带有鲜明特色和重要影响的学术作品,传承、丰富、发展了英国学派的理论与方法。他拓展了国际社会研究的历史纵深,构建了国际社会中国家间关系的"光谱"形态和"钟摆"理论模型,参与外交事务的实践经验与思考丰富了早期英国学派理论探讨的视角与切入点,晚年对原有思想的修正与超越提升了英国学派理论的解释力与生命力。沃森的学术贡献与思想脉络也因此成为我们研究英国学派学术史的重要线索。Adam Watson is regarded as a key figure of the English School of International Relations.His extensive experience of serving in numerous diplomatic posts enables him to develop an insightful perspective to the concerns of reality,while as a highly productive scholar he has played a long-standing role in the British Committee on the Theory of International Politics founded in 1959.The dual experiences as intellectual and practitioner profoundly shaped the academic life of Watson.Dedicated to the research agenda of international society,Watson contributes a handful of remarkable academic works which help to inherit and deepen the theory and approaches of English School in multiple ways.Firstly,Watson broadens the historical horizon in the study of international societies by a significant comparative study of different state systems in known history;Secondly,he constructs a delicate theoretical framework of“Spectrum”and“Pendulum”in the study of international societies;Thirdly,his participation and reflection in diplomatic affairs enriches the visions of theoretical investigation of English School;Last but not least,Watson’s amendments and transcendence to earlier thoughts facilitates in reinforcing the explanatory capacity and vitality of English School theories.Hence his academic achievements and intellectual threads deserve further investigation in the study of the English School of International Relations.
